Abstract
An editorial introduction to a journal volume that contains research articles on the ancient world. These papers were originally presented during two specialized panel sessions at the XXIII International Congress of Historical Sciences, held in Poznań in August 2022. The publication brings together papers focused on the themes of civil wars in the Greco-Roman world, as well as courts and courtiers in the Ancient East and the Mediterranean.
