Abstract

This is a review article dedicated to new research on Cicero’s philosophical thought. The author analyzes three book publications from the years 2022–2023, which reject the long-standing view of the Roman orator’s works as merely compilatory and instead demonstrate his intellectual originality. In conclusion, it is emphasized that the discussed books prove Cicero’s philosophy was deeply rooted in the Roman socio-political context and exerted a massive influence on the subsequent development of European political thought.
