Abstract
The scientific article discusses a fragmentary funerary stele with an inscription and a carved scene of a funerary banquet (coena funebris), discovered near the Roman Danubian fort of Novae. The author provides a detailed analysis of the unique stylistic features of this artifact, pointing out an interesting fusion of Roman craftsmanship and strong traditions of Greek culture, and dates the monument to the second half of the 2nd century AD based on its limestone, lettering, and ligatures.
