Abstract
The article analyzes Roman military operations in Germania between 9 and 14 AD, which is a little-known period between the defeat of Varus in the Teutoburg Forest and the major campaigns of Germanicus. The author reconstructs the actions of Tiberius and Germanicus based on written and numismatic sources, evaluating the degree of Roman military involvement after the catastrophe. The text sheds new light on the political and strategic decisions of the Julio-Claudian dynasty and shows how Rome's internal politics influenced the abandonment of further conquests on the right bank of the Rhine.
